1. Introduction
H&K Global Trading Pty Ltd (“H&K”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to upholding the highest ethical, legal, and social standards throughout our global supply chain.
As both a manufacturer and sourcing partner, we recognise our responsibility to ensure that every stage of production — from fabric to finished garment — is conducted ethically, sustainably, and free from exploitation.
This statement is published in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) and outlines the actions H&K takes to identify, prevent, and mitigate modern slavery and human rights risks across our operations and supply chain.
2. Our Business Structure
H&K Global Trading Pty Ltd operates from Australia and maintains owned and partnered facilities across Bangladesh and Thailand, supported by sourcing offices and logistics hubs.
We specialise in apparel manufacturing and distribution, including:
• Men’s, Women’s & Kids’ Wear
• Workwear & Uniforms
• Sleepwear & Underwear
• Sustainable and ethical apparel development
Our operations include manufacturing, sourcing, quality control, warehousing, transport coordination, and international trade management.
3. Our Commitment
We have zero tolerance for any form of modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, debt bondage, or child labour within our operations or those of our suppliers.
We are committed to:
• Protecting worker rights, health, and safety;
• Providing fair wages and working hours;
• Respecting freedom of association; and
• Ensuring dignified working conditions across all facilities.
4. Governance & Ethical Framework
H&K maintains an Ethical Sourcing & Compliance Policy built around the following key frameworks:
• ILO (International Labour Organization) Core Labour Standards
• United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs)
• OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises
• Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth)
We ensure these principles are embedded across all supplier relationships, factory audits, and procurement decisions.
5. Risk Assessment & Due Diligence
5.1 Risk Identification
We regularly assess modern slavery risks in relation to:
• The apparel manufacturing sector;
• Raw material sourcing (e.g., cotton, trims, and accessories);
• Labour hire and subcontracting practices; and
• Third-party logistics and transport providers.
5.2 Supplier Evaluation
Before onboarding any supplier, we:
• Conduct background screening and compliance verification;
• Review certifications (e.g., BSCI, WRAP, SEDEX, OEKO-TEX, GOTS); and
• Evaluate working conditions, environmental performance, and wage practices.
5.3 Continuous Monitoring
Suppliers are re-evaluated annually through onsite audits or digital compliance assessments, ensuring ongoing adherence to ethical and legal standards.
6. Factory Audits & Compliance Monitoring
H&K conducts or commissions independent audits for all partner factories.
Audits assess:
• Legal employment contracts and wage compliance;
• Working hours and overtime limits;
• Workplace health, safety, and fire compliance;
• Absence of forced or child labour; and
• Gender equality and worker welfare programs.
Where non-compliance is identified, a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) is implemented and tracked through follow-up audits.
7. Training & Awareness
We believe prevention begins with education.
All H&K staff, managers, and suppliers receive training on:
• Recognising indicators of forced or exploitative labour;
• Worker rights and grievance mechanisms;
• Environmental and social compliance requirements; and
• Transparent reporting procedures for ethical concerns.
8. Worker Voice & Grievance Channels
Every factory and office under H&K’s control or partnership must provide a confidential grievance mechanism accessible to all workers, without retaliation.
Workers can raise concerns anonymously through:
• Internal management representatives;
• H&K compliance officers; or
• Independent worker welfare NGOs (where available).
9. Environmental Responsibility
Our ethical approach extends to environmental sustainability, including:
• Waste minimisation and responsible disposal;
• Energy-efficient and water-conscious production;
• Non-toxic dyeing and finishing processes; and
• Recyclable packaging and logistics optimisation.
We are also in the process of developing a state-of-the-art Green Factory to reduce emissions and energy use.
10. Collaboration & Transparency
We work closely with clients, suppliers, and certification partners to drive transparency and traceability across every step of the apparel supply chain.
H&K encourages clients to request full supply chain visibility and is committed to providing supporting audit documentation and certifications upon request.
11. Reporting and Continuous Improvement
We conduct internal reviews and external audits annually to assess:
• Compliance with this statement;
• Effectiveness of our policies and procedures; and
• Opportunities for continuous improvement in ethical performance.
Any confirmed breaches of this policy result in corrective action or termination of supplier relationships.
12. Approval and Review
This statement has been approved by the Board of H&K Global Trading Pty Ltd.
It will be reviewed annually and updated as our business and compliance programs evolve.
